CTTCS Phillips was born in and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi. He enlisted in the Navy in May 2001. He completed basic training at RTC Great Lakes, Illinois followed by Electronic Warfare Technician “A” and “C” schools in Pensacola, Fl.
Senior Chief Phillips’ previous sea duty assignments include the following: USS Robert G. Bradley (FFG 49) where he served as an AN/SLQ-32 Technician and Operator; USS Klackring (FFG 42) as the OT Workcenter Supervisor; NAVIOCOM Georgia Direct Support Subs as the ESM Supervisor; and USS Paul Ignatius (DDG 117) as the Plans and Tactics Departmental LCPO
Senior Chief Phillips’ previous shore duty assignments include the following: NAVIOCOM Georgia Alantic Signals Analysis Lab and RTC Great Lakes where he served as a Recruit Division Commander and certified as a Master Training Specialist.
From September 2011 to July of 2012, he volunteered to deploy to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where he served as SIGINT Lead Sensor Operator for Special Operations Joint Task Force.
Senior Chief Phillips’ personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5) and various other unit and campaign awards.
Senior Chief Phillips is married to Jamekia Phillips of Clarksdale, MS and they have three children: Rakya, Rakia, and Riyah.
