STGCS(SW/AW) Kenneth Schlittler

Senior Chief Schlittler is a native of Belleville, Wis., and enlisted in the world’s finest Navy in 2001. He graduated from Basic Training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, followed by Surface Sonar Technician “A” School, and MK116 Fire Control “C” School in San Diego.

His first duty station was aboard the USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) in San Diego and Yokosuka, Japan, where he earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist designation. His following sea tour was at Integrated Undersea Surveillance System, Sea Component, West, deploying to 7th Fleet aboard USNS Able and USNS Impeccable. He later served as Sonar Division Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard USS Rodney M Davis (FFG 60), and USS Kidd (DDG 100) where he earned Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist.

Ashore, Schlittler served as Lead Analyst and Quality Assurance LPO at Naval Ocean Processing Facility, in Whidbey Island, Wash. He also served as a Recruit Division Commander, Ship’s Leading Chief Petty Officer of USS Arizona, and Senior Enlisted Leader for the unique COVID recruit quarantine mission at Fort McCoy Army Base.

Schlittler assumed duties as Senior Enlisted Leader for Commander, Destroyer Squadron 40 in August 2021. Schlittler’s military decorations include the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), Recruit Training Service Ribbon and numerous unit citation and service awards.
