Capt. Bryan Gallo

Captain Gallo graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and was commissioned upon completion of Officer Candidate School in May of 1999.

Captain Gallo's sea tours include serving as Reactor Mechanical Division Officer and Reactor Propulsion Division Officer in USS HARRY S TRUMAN (CVN 75). As a Department Head, he served as Operations Officer in USS ROSS (DDG 71) and Assistant Reactor Officer and Reactor Electrical Assistant in USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER (CVN 69). Forward deployed out of Rota, Spain, Captain Gallo completed his Executive Officer and Commanding Officer tours onboard USS ROSS (DDG 71).  After his command tour, he completed an extended, forward-deployed Reactor Officer tour in USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76).
 
Ashore, Captain Gallo served as Shift Engineer in Moored Training Ship 635 at Nuclear Power Training Unit, Charleston.  Following his department head tours, he attended the US Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas while earning his Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University.  He then attended the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia prior to reporting to US Special Operations Command where he served in the Global Mission Support Center and the J-33 Directorate.

Captain Gallo is currently in command of Destroyer Squadron 40 (DESRON 40).
 
Captain Gallo's decorations and awards include: Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), and Navy Commendation Medal (four awards). Additionally, he is authorized to wear numerous unit and campaign awards.
