Capt. Peter Ehlers
Capt. Peter Ehlers is a native of Portsmouth, Va. and a 1996 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Commission in the U.S. Navy. Ehlers’ sea duty tours include; First Lieutenant and Electrical Officer, MCMROTCREW A serving onboard USS Gladiator (MCM 11), USS Ardent (MCM-12) and USS Dextrous (MCM 13), Fire Control Officer onboard USS Wasp (LHD 1), Combat Systems Officer onboard USS Taylor (FFG 50), and Operations Officer onboard USS Austin (LPD 4). His shore tours include the Joint Interagency Task Force East, United States Special Operations Command, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron Two, and the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, J3. He is a graduate of the Naval War College where he received a Master of Art degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.
His awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2), Navy Achievement Medal (2), and numerous unit and service awards.
Ehlers is the former Commanding Officer of USS Robert G. Bradley (FFG 49).
