Safety and Health Policy
SAFETY IS ESSENTIAL TO THE HEALTH, WELL-BEING, EFFECTIVENESS, AND MORALE OF OUR WORKFORCE.

I am committed to making health and safety concerns an integral part of our effective decision-making. It demands the same level of priority as planning and executing our mission throughout our area of responsibility, and must be integrated into every one of our processes.

Safety begins with my leadership and extends to each of you - the manager, supervisor, Sailor and civilian. As we go about improving the way we get our work done, we must join together to incorporate safety and occupational health at every level of change. The health and safety of our personnel and the protection of our equipment and facilities from accidental loss is the primary responsibility of all our leaders.

We must all actively support the Navy Occupational Safety and Health (NAVOSH) program by providing leadership, guidance, technical direction, and resources to protect our people.

EVERY MEMBER  OF  THIS  COMMAND  MUST  REMAIN  COMMITTED  TO MAINTAINING A SAFE WORKPLACE.

I encourage each of you to become proactive in your responsibility to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

The alternative is unacceptable!
